When you put two big-hitting teams like this together, you're going to get a lot of hitting. Which is what we got here. The sides were evenly matched, but the Ugly Bleeders just managed to get the jump on the Nightcrawlers after the kick-off. Constantly on the back foot, they were then unable to get through a resolute Orc defensive formation for the whole of the first half, although they didn't suffer significant casualties (hey, what's a skeleton knockout here and there...)

With not long to go in the first half, and both sides still bashing each other on the half way line, the Orcs finally managed to get a decent hit on the ball carrier, and even more unbelievably, a lineman managed to pick up the ball and make a break for the line. His ideas were soon cut short by a pair of rearguard skeletons.

The second half started looking like it might be more of the same, but again the Orcs were marginally on top, even more so after ganging up on a skeleton and managing to kill it outright. Revenge was taken on the Orc thrower, taken out of the game.

The Bleeders started to push the ball up the line, leaving the Black Orcs and Mummies to fight it out on the half-way line; the remaining blitzers (one down after a savage block from a mummy) and linemen faced down the skeletons plus an out-of-breath mummy who'd caught up with play.

After a moment of overconfidence when they allowed a block on the ball carrier to get through, they recovered their composure and the ball and pushed on up the line to score.
